Worship services

The Willows is a community church of The Salvation Army.  We are a group of people who are exploring what it means to be in a relationship with God through an intimate understanding of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Our weekly church services are held The Willows Church & Family Life Centre in Langley, BC.

Our Sunday morning worship gathering is a time for celebration! It’s a casual, family-friendly environment where you can relax and allow God to meet you where you are. We know it can be intimidating entering into a new crowd for the first time but we think you’ll find that at The Willows you may enter as a stranger, but you’ll leave a friend.

Time: Sunday from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Location: #103 - 5735 203 Street, Langley, BC  V3A 8A7

During summer, we move to meeting on Sundays at 10am at local parks (usually Williams Park in Langley Township) for our Wild Church experience! Life Groups and other weekly meetings are held throughout the community and at the Centre.

A couple of times a year, we enjoy a meal together, either right at the beginning of the service on our Family Brunch Sunday’s, or afterwards at our annual WillowsFest BBQ in September, or a Soup & Bun lunch for our Congregational Meeting in May.

Preaching
Jesus is the center of everything we do at The Willows. His sacrifice and resurrection offers new life to those who believe and follow him. For this reason, we have a high view of the Bible because it is one of the ways God speaks most clearly to us.
Worship
From celebration to prayerful reflection our worship leaders and musicians share their gifts in a way that focuses our hearts on the goodness of God. This is part of corporately preparing our hearts for the hearing of the Word, and allowing us the space to respond to it.
Community
Because we value relationships, we provide complimentary coffee and tea available before, during, and after the service. This gives us something to hold in our hand when meeting people for the first time or the hundredth time, so grab a cup and get connected!
Teaching
Our mission is “to make the heart of Christ known”. Teaching the Bible week after week allows us to hear God’s heart in His own words. Our speakers desire to bring God’s Word to life so that these ancient and enduring words can have practical application in our lives today.

Live Streamed Worship Services

The Willows has a weekly Sunday gathering at The Willows Church & Family Life Centre, which is intentionally relaxed, allowing people to come to church just the way they are. We begin with a time of worship and prayer.  After this time, the children head to Kid’s Church for a time of music, videos, teaching and activities using the ORANGE curriculum which seeks to combine the love of the home with the light of the church!  There are three classes First Look (Preschool), 252 Kids (Early Elementary), and XP3 (Jr. High), plus a nursery space for parents and their little ones.  The adults then continue with worship and teaching based on scripture showing how Jesus both transforms and restores us at the same time.

Worship

People were created to worship.  From celebration to prayerful reflection, our worship leaders and musicians share their gifts in a way that focuses our hearts on the presence and goodness of God.  This is part of corporately preparing our hearts and minds to be attentive to what God is saying, and allowing us the space to respond to it.

Because we value relationships, we have tea and coffee freely available: grab a cup before, during, or after the service and connect with old friends and make new ones.  So pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, and get connected!

Mission

As we finish our time together on Sunday, we head out with an understanding that God calls us to engage with our neighbours and community by expressing the hope, love, and grace that we have found in him. We believe that we are taught and empowered to do this through a relationship with The Holy Spirit. We encourage everyone to join a Life Group: small groups of people who meet regularly (weekly or monthly) to encourage and share life with each other.
