We’re so excited that you took the most difficult step.
Who We Are
The Willows is a community church of The Salvation Army. We are a group of people who are exploring what it means to be in a relationship with God through an intimate understanding of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
What Our Church Is Like
The Willows has a weekly Sunday gathering at RC Garnett Elementary school, which is intentionally relaxed, allowing people to come to church just the way they are. We have a time of worship and prayer followed by a short break for coffee and conversation – connecting with old friends and welcoming new ones. At this time, the children head to Kid’s Church for a time of music, videos, teaching and activities using the ORANGE curriculum which seeks to combine the love of the home with the light of the church! There are three classes First Look (Preschool), 252 Kids (Early Elementary) and XP3 (Jr. High), plus a nursery space for parents and their little ones. The adults gather back in the gym for another worship set and teaching based on scripture showing how Jesus both transforms and restores us at the same time.
People were created to worship. From celebration to prayerful reflection, our worship leaders and musicians share their gifts in a way that focuses our hearts on the goodness of God. This is part of corporately preparing our hearts for the hearing of the Word, and allowing us the space to respond to it.
Coffee & Community
Because we value relationships, we have a 10-minute coffee break built right into the service. This gives us a chance to connect with old friends and make new ones. It’s also a natural break to help families transition their kids into Kid’s Church. So pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, and get connected!
Jesus is the center of everything we do at The Willows. His sacrifice and resurrection offers new life to those who believe and follow him. For this reason, we preach the Bible because it is how God speaks most clearly to us. Each week we explore how the message of Jesus transforms our lives.
As we finish our time together on Sunday, we head out with an understanding that God calls us to engage with our neighbours and community by expressing the hope, love, and grace that we have found in him. We believe that we are taught and empowered to do this through a relationship with The Holy Spirit. We encourage everyone to join a Life Group: small groups of people who meet regularly (weekly or monthly) to encourage and share life with each other.
