STEP UP & SERVE

Kid’s Church

Introducing young people to Jesus is one of the greatest joys you’ll ever experience. The kids ministry is looking for volunteers of all kinds: from baby cuddling in the nursery, to cut & paste with the preschoolers, silly games & bible stories with primary kids, and deep questions with the tweens. The classes have both lead teachers and support helpers so anyone can participate. No previous training is required, but all volunteers will participate in the child worker screening process, safety checks & training videos required by The Salvation Army.

Setup & Tear Down

Running a church in a multipurpose space, the setup team is the backbone of everything. These volunteers arrive early on Sunday and stay late to pack up (12:30 p.m.).

These people are our heroes. With every chair on the ground, they set the stage for one more person to listen to God’s Word being spoken. With every cord run, they prepare for His greatness to be belted out in worship. Volunteers usually commit to set up on a once-a-month basis on one of four rotating teams. We are always in need of a few extra hands.

Hospitality

There are a variety of ways to serve in hospitality from preparing the coffee & tea, to greeting and answering questions for newcomers. The payoff is a warm, friendly environment where everyone feels welcome and cared for.

Prayer Team

The Bible teaches that the prayer of a righteous person is: “powerful and effective” and that we should “pray without ceasing”. Believing that God acts when we pray we are learning to include prayer in every aspect of life at The Willows Church. We are looking for believers interested in learning more about ministering through prayer in various ways both on Sundays and throughout the week. Penny Armstrong coordinates our Prayer email chain and various initiatives throughout the year.
