Mission-Statement-2-1

Mission & Values

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church.

Its message is based on the Bible.
Its ministry is motivated by the love of God.
Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in his name without discrimination.

Mission Statement

THE SALVATION ARMY EXISTS TO SHARE THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST, MEET HUMAN NEEDS AND BE A TRANSFORMING INFLUENCE IN THE COMMUNITIES OF OUR WORLD.

Vision Statement

The vision of the Salvation Army in Canada & Bermuda is that: WE ARE AN INNOVATIVE PARTNER, MOBILIZED TO SHARE HOPE WHEREVER THERE IS HARDSHIP, BUILDING COMMUNITIES THAT ARE JUST AND KNOW THE LOVE OF JESUS.

Our vision as The Willows Church is to:

– Embrace our community and invite them to explore Jesus.
– Enfold everyone into the “family” of the Willows.
– Multiply disciples, leaders and ministries that multiply themselves through innovation and mentorship.

At The Willows, we have a set of values that drive our mission. They are the undercurrent of everything we do, and they help to centre us on how God has designed the Willows to serve Him. Our core values are:

Christ-centredness
We exist to share the good news that the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ has changed everything. We want to love him fully, live in him joyfully, and proclaim him authentically.

Relationships
We understand the church to be neither a place, nor an event, but rather a people. The pursuit of loving and authentic relationships with God, each other, and our world is at the core of all we do.

Relevance
We seek to present Christ in ways that are innovative and culturally effective because we believe that the message of Christ is the most relevant message of all!

Real
We desire to live our lives before God, and in community with one another with honesty and transparency, both receiving, and giving the grace of God as we wrestle through life’s challenges together.

Restoration
The message of Jesus is that God reached out to us in the midst of our sin in order to restore us to Himself. As we put our faith in Him and let Him guide us, we too become agents of restoration, bringing the hope of Christ to a world full of broken people and broken systems.

Reach out
We desire to extend the message of Jesus and multiply the church through intentional relationships, missional homegroups, and compassionate service to our community.

Core Values

Hope: We give hope through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Service: We reach out to support others without discrimination.

Dignity: We respect and value each other, recognizing everyone’s worth.

Stewardship: We responsibly manage the resources entrusted to us.
